The Angolan Embassy has the noble task to further develop and strength the existing bilateral relations between Angola and South Africa namely regarding the political relations as well as cooperation in the fields of economy and trade, culture, science and research, education and tourism.
H. E. Josefina Pitra Diakite is also the appointed Ambassador for the Republics of Mauritius, Madagascar and the Kingdom of Lesotho.
If you are interested in contacting us, our office is located in Hatfield area between Francis Baard (ex-Schoeman) and Pretorious Streets, and open to public from Monday to Friday 9h30 to 15h00. The Embassy observes both Angolan Holidays and South African Holidays, and will be closed on those dates.
People interested in Visa Service, information on travel procedures, power of attorneys, marriage and birth certificates, notary service must direct inquiries to the Consular Section which is located behind the Embassy main building on Pretorious Street.
Army, Airforce and Navy matters must be addressed to the Military Chancellery whose office is also located behind the Embassy main building on Pretorious Street, on the Consular Section's righ side.

Ambassador Josefina Pitra Diakite
H.E. Josefina Pitra Diakite was appointed Ambassador to South Africa, Lesotho, Republics of Mauritius, and Madagascar by President Jose Eduardo Dos Santos on June 1, 2011 and sworn on June 29, 2011. She presented her credentials to South African President Jacob Zuma on February 1, 2012.
Before being appointed Ambassador to South Africa, Josefina Pitra Diakite served as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to United States from2001 to 2011.
Other senior level positions previously held by Ambassador Pitra Diakite include Chief of the Diplomatic Mission of the Republic of Angola to Scandinavian states of Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Finland from 1993-2001, the National Director of Technical Assistance of the State Secretariat for Cooperation from 1987-1989 and Director of Western Europe and North America Division from 1989-1992.
She is Graduate from Agostinho Neto University Law School and joined the Angolan Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1978.
